Architectural design and construction of site specific, client specific custom home in Blacksburg, Virginia. Green building strategies include natural lighting and ventilation, passive solar design, and use of trees cleared from site.


Site-
Steep, wooded with great view to south and creek curving around below.

Program- Large family, zen retreat, lots of light, tractor shed and workshop with a firetower.

House- Shed roofs angled to capture and diffuse light all day. Oriental influence, materials from site used extensively, radiant heat, low maintenance exterior. Separate apartment for kids returning home/housesitter/future caregiver.
